Leader of the opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, dared the national convenor of AAP and ex-chief Minister of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal, to drink the water supplied in the slums, leaving aside water from the Yamuna River.
Rahul Gandhi attacked the current party in power inside Delhi, while addressing an election rally in Madipur assembly constituency in West Delhi on Friday.
“He (Kejriwal) promised to clean the river and take a dip in it. Kejriwal Ji, leave aside the Yamuna water, drink the normal water from Delhi slums. You said you would clean the Yamuna, but you did nothing. Your words are hollow.” said Gandhi.
Rahul Goes Offensive For Delhi Elections
The opposition leader further attacked AAP and said, “Kejriwal Ji came in a ‘Wagon R’ and went straight to the parking lot of ‘Sheesh Mahal’. He built a house worth crores of rupees, indulged in corruption and ruined all the development work done by Sheila Dixit ji. Kejriwal only makes false promises. “
Rahul Gandhi also targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi on corporate loan waivers and claimed that Modi has waived of ₹16 lakh crore for 25 billionaires up till now. “…But not a single rupee has been waived off of the traders, students and women of Delhi,” added Gandhi.
Earlier on Friday morning, Priyanka Gandhi also held a roadshow at the Nangloi Jatt assembly. Rohit Chaudhary is the candidate for the Congress party in the area.
