President-elect Donald Trump Took Oath as the 47th president of the United States

Published:

President-elect Donald Trump took the oath as the 47th president of the United States inside the Rotunda of the US Capitol on January 20, 2025. JD Vance, a 40-year-old Republican politician, attorney, and author, was sworn in as the incoming vice president. The swearing-in ceremony of the incoming president was traditionally scheduled to take place inside an enormous temporary platform on the Capitol’s scenic West lawn. But because of the rigid weather forecast, the eventful oath ceremony was moved indoors.

As Trump took the oath, he promised the US citizens to push the limits of executive powers, deport millions of immigrants, secure redistribution against his political enemies and transform the role of America on the World stage. On the first day of taking office, Donald Trump is likely to sign around a hundred executive orders to deport illegal aliens, withdraw from the Paris climate accord and impose 25% tariffs on Mexico and Canada.

Post The Oath

After the oath ceremony, Trump went on to give an inaugural address, attacking his political opponent. He said that his coming to power would ‘liberate’ the country from ‘radical and corrupt establishments’. In his inaugural speech, Trump also confirmed his plans to announce a national emergency on Southern borders and a national green emergency to end the inflation crisis and boost the country’s automobile industry.

Besides Grover Cleveland, Trump is the only individual in over 230 years of American governance to acquire the presidency twice. This happened even after Trump lost the re-election.

“Many people thought it was impossible for me to make such a historical political comeback. But as you see today here, I am here. The American people have spoken,” said Donald Trump during his inauguration speech. His coming to power was nothing short of a miracle, after four indictments, one conviction, an assassination attempt, social media bans and a controversial campaign.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Donald Trump on his historic inauguration as the 47th president. “I look forward to working closely together again to benefit both our countries and shape a better future for the world,” said Modi.
