Magic of ISRO, Images captured of Maha Kumbh Mela from Space

Published:

India’s space agency, ISRO, has released stunning satellite images of the ongoing Maha Kumbh Mela, the world’s largest religious gathering, held in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. With an estimated 40 crore people expected to visit over a span of 45 days, the event is a testament to India’s rich cultural and spiritual heritage.

The images, captured by Indian satellites, provide a unique perspective of the large-scale infrastructure created for this grand occasion.

One of the key features captured in the satellite images is the creation of the new Shivalay Park. An image taken on April 6, 2024, shows a vast open field, which over the months transformed into the Shivalay Park.

By December 22, 2024, the park had been constructed, and its layout, designed in the shape of India’s map, is clearly visible.
