Kejriwal Hits Back at Rajiv Kumar Over Yamuna Water Issue

Published:

The AAP’s national convener, Arvind Kejriwal, has accused the Haryana government of purposely harming the Yamuna River in order to cause panic and shift blame to Delhi’s AAP government.

This came after significant quantities of ammonia were found in the river, prompting concerns about water safety in Delhi.

I know they will arrest me in three days- Kejriwal

Responding to the second notice of the Election Commission (ECI), Kejriwal said, “Rajiv Kumar wants a post-retirement job. No one has ruined democracy as much as he has. The language he has used is not the Election Commission’s job. He should contest the election from any seat in Delhi. We will send three bottles to Rajiv Kumar as well. I know they will arrest me in three days, let them do so, I am not afraid.”

The Election Commission of India states

The Election Commission of India (ECI) sharply responded to Kejriwal’s claims, demanding factual evidence to support his allegations. The ECI asked Kejriwal to provide detailed information, including specifics about the type, quantity, and method of poisoning, as well as the engineers and locations involved in detecting the contamination. The Commission set a deadline for Kejriwal to submit the required evidence by 11 am on January 31.

The Election Commission said that it will leave it to the competence and discretion of governments and agencies, abstaining from arbitration on long-standing water-sharing and pollution issues during the brief election period.
