IND vs ENG, 1st T20I: Abhishek Sharma, spinners ruin Bazball’s

In the 1st T20 International between India and England, it was Indian spinner Abhishek Sharma’s explosive knock that stole the show. Abhishek smashed 79 off just 34 balls, leading India to a straightforward chase of 133. England, on the other hand, struggled against the spin duo of Varun Chakravarthy and Arshdeep Singh, who took crucial wickets and stifled the England batting lineup.

Brendon McCullum’s much-anticipated “Bazball” approach, known for its aggressive and fearless style, faltered in Indian conditions much like it did with England’s Test team last year. In McCullum’s first game as T20I coach, it was the Indian bowlers and batters who provided the entertainment, much to the crowd’s delight at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.
