Chaava director Laxman Utekar confirms deleting scenes featuring Sambhaji Maharaj performing Lezim

The director of Chaava, Laxman Utekar, has said that he will be removing the parts in which Sambhaji Maharaj and Maharani Yesubai perform the Lezim dance. Laxman Utekar confirmed the news in an official statement. The decision came after his meeting with Raj Thackeray.

“I have met Raj Thackeray. He is an avid reader and studious person. So I have taken some suggestions and guidance from him. And I can say his words are very helpful for me. And after meeting him, I have decided to delete those scenes where we have shown Sambhaji Maharaj playing Lezim dance,” the director said in a statement.

Bollywood star Vicky Kaushal portrays the renowned Maratha warrior in Chhaava. Last week, the movie’s trailer was unveiled in Mumbai.

The filmmaker added that the dance sequence featuring Vicky and Rashmika Mandanna will be deleted from the film.

“Lezim dance is not a big deal. Sambhaji Maharaj is much bigger than that Lezim dance. So, we are going to remove those scenes from the film,” he said.
