Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman delivered the Union Budget 2025 to enhance middle-class development and agricultural growth and urban infrastructure expansion. Prime Minister Modi heads an administration that presents this budget designed to guide India toward becoming Viksit Bharat (developed India) via a development strategy focused on inclusiveness throughout multiple sectors.
The budget places its main emphasis on strengthening the capabilities of young people along with farmers and women and poor communities to obtain national growth benefits. The budget sets these elements as fundamental components toward achieving the vision of “Viksit Bharat.”
The PM Dhan Dhanya Krishi Yojana stands as a critical program for farmers because it focuses on boosting agricultural output across 100 districts with low yields. The 1.7 crore farmers participating in the initiative will gain improved crop diversification and storage capabilities as well as enhanced irrigation systems. The Makhana Board in Bihar will create a new division to enhance foxnut agricultural production rates.
The budget champions the development of MSMEs by extending credit guarantee coverage to Rs 10 crore for micro-enterprises thus enabling increased financial support of Rs 1.5 lakh crore. The overall development of MSMEs will receive additional support through expanded classification criteria that will boost their business potential toward India’s manufacturing targets.
Through the Urban Challenge Fund the government established a Rs 1 lakh crore urban finance program that provides 25% of available financing to qualified urban infrastructure projects. Both public agencies and private organizations should participate under this initiative to modernize Indian cities thereby securing sustainable urban development into the future.
