Aaradhya Bachchan Files Lawsuit Against False Media Claims about her health

Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s daughter Aaradhya Bachchan has filed a petition in Delhi High Court to eliminate fake online content regarding her health status. The petition emerged following Google and YouTube receiving court instructions in April 2023 to remove videos that shared fabricated information about Aaradhya’s deteriorating health condition or proclaimed she was dead.

Delhi High Court’s stringent action

The court responded to her petition and sent notices to Google, Bollywood Times and other websites. The next hearing will take place on March 17, 2025. Due to persistent circulation of deceptive videos, the legal representative for Aaradhya made a request for additional protective measures.

In April 2023, the Delhi High Court made a strong order asking YouTube to delete fake health videos about Aaradhya. The court stated in its previous hearing that every child including children in the public spotlight has the right to physical and mental dignity. The court also ordered the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) to implement measures against harmful social media content.
